Karl

Karl Vaters is the author of the book, The Grasshopper Myth: Big Churches, Small Churches and the Small Thinking That Divides Us. On his blog Pivot, he writes about Innovative Leadership from a Small Church Perspective for ChristianityToday.com several times a week. He’s also the founder of NewSmallChurch.com, a ministry that encourages, connects and equips innovative Small Church pastors.

Karl’s passion is neither to help pastors grow churches bigger or to settle for less. He believes Small Churches are not a problem, a virtue or an excuse. They just are. And they can be pastored well.

His heart is to help pastors of Small Churches (about 90% of churches) find the resources to pastor their current church well, and to capitalize on the unique advantages that come with pastoring a Small Church – something virtually every pastor will spend at least some of their ministry years doing. He also believes that big and small churches can and should work together more often – to the benefit of each.

Karl has been in pastoral ministry for over 30 years and has been the lead pastor of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Fountain Valley, California for over 23 years.

gabriel-galdamez (1)

Gabriel has been passionately involved in creative ministry to families for over 15 years. At the age of 18, he actually left ministry with crushed spirits when his then-pastor told him that “puppets could never be a ministry to communicate the greatness of our God…”

Thankfully, he found much-needed encouragement to continue using his gifts at a conference shortly after. With that – and other nudges from above – he hasn’t turned back since and God has accomplished infinitely more than he might have ever imagined!

Gabriel has a heart for teaching young people the value of pouring their gifts at Christ’s feet. He is the director of Iglesia Jesucristo Es El Señor’s “Create, Minister, Teach!” This dynamic creative ministry enjoys blending powerful stories with diverse art forms to share the Gospel message throughout the West Coast at churches, schools and conferences.

Gabriel is passionate about creatively communicating Christ and equipping others to do the same. He has had the privilege of teaching at regional, national and international conferences and leading trainings for missions to Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua and Ecuador.

 kristfer

Kristofer Sommerfeld is a respected puppeteer and puppet builder in the field of Christian Puppetry and teaches at regional, national, and international conferences as well as “one-on-one – team training” for individual churches and ministries. He is a master puppeteer as well as an advanced puppet designer/builder. He has been involved in puppetry, creative arts and children’s ministries for most of his life. His ministry experience began with kids camps, children’s church, school clubs and YMCA preschool clubs. His ultimate passion is for people to know the true Heart of God and His love for them. He loves to see God do the “impossible” and bring complete healing to people – body, soul and spirit – through Christ’s love, finished work on the cross, and His resurrection. In 2012, he meet Kevin Clash (former puppeteer of Elmo) and was able to show him some of his work. Clash was impressed with his skills and this led to a personal invitation to the Jim Henson Company workshop in Long Island City, NY as well as a visit to the set of “Sesame Street” at Kauffman Astoria Studios. Kristofer is currently serving as the President of the Fellowship of Christian Puppeteers organization and the Director of Evergreen Creative Ministries™. He is also the owner of Kristofer Sommerfeld Productions and the brand Puppedcation™.
